Prague children took a trip to India,ancient Greece and the rain forest last Thursday, all without leavingtown.

Professional storyteller Barbara Jonesvisited the Haynie Library for the third week of “Catch the ReadingBug,” the library’s summer reading program. She entertained thechildren with stories about bugs helping to rescue the sun in India,the origin of spiders in ancient Greece and attacks of army ants inthe rain forest.

“When army ants start moving, all theother bugs and animals run away,” Jones told the children. “Theyknow the ants can kill them.”

Next week will be the last week of thereading program. Local beekeeper Missy Husted will come talk to thechildren about raising honeybees and will bring an observation hiveto let children see how bees make honey. The program will be held at3 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the library.
